I picked up Hyro from Houston Airport and wow, what a boy. He has a very ominous presence. He is a clear headed boy who loves protection. We look forward to incorportaing him into our breeding program and will offer him to approved females for stud.

12/20/10- K9 Kondos Arrive

I ordered (2) K9 Kondos for the dogs that are kenneled outside. I have been using heating mats with great success, however this year Bronco's went into failure. Fortunately, I check them daily to ensure they are working and noticed his was excessively hot and had started to melt at the corners. His dog house, full of hay, would have certainly gone up in flames and probably with him in it. So, this pushed me to upgrade his quarters to the ultimate in outdoor canine living....the K9 Kondo. The entire unit is held together with rivets and made of zinc plated metal. The walls, floor and roof are insulated. I bought the units with the heating pad insert which goes under the zinc plated floor. I took the extra step of coating the outside with spray on truck bed liner to extend the life of the zinc. This is recommended by the builder as some dogs urinate on their boxes. I finished leveling his out today. Never the less, Bronco is "ultra destructive" so we’ll see how it goes.

11/28/10- Booker (a Mambo z PS son) visits

Booker is a training vistor here at the kennel. As a Mambo z PS son he has very high prey drive and ominus and curiously pleasant overall disposition. He has reminded me of "why" Mambo z PS is a such sought after Sire for police and protection dogs. Booker has been fun to have around and has given me the opportunity to see progeny of Mambo and another quality female (Emise Venusina sopka).

7/7/10- Work continues in the Kennel

I have been building a permanant whelping room within the kennel. As I posted on "The Kennels" page the area currently used as the main kennel will be used as the breeding area/ whelping area. A seperate consolidated kennel will be constructed for all the other dogs to be housed.

This weekend I have been cleaning out the kennel in preperation for next Saturday (14 August). The kennel will be sprayed with 4 inches of foam insulation for better temperature consistancy. Also making it more engery efficent.

6/27/10- Visit with Mambo

Melissa and I took Fatyma to Dallas this morning. There we met Vicki and Mambo z PS. There was a great sense of comradary, and then there was Mambo....just wanting to play with his tug. So we did just that. What a Boy!! I can say that I have played with Mambo z PS. Vicki emailed me today to tell me that Fatyma is flagging and that she will put Mambo and Fatyma together today. Our fingers are crossed. Thanks for your time Vicki, we really appreciate it.

5/20/10- Registration Name Change

To honor the heritage, history, and Czech breed we have decided to change our "Regisitration Name" to "ze Srdce Lva" or Heart of the Lion. This change came after much consideration and thought and appologize for any confusion this may have caused for past clients. We will still retain der Lowen Herzen for our A Litter.

Clients that wish to "name" their pup must first have submitted a reservation fee to VRK9. Once the reservation fee is received, clients that wish to name their pup will use the "Litter Designator" (ie: A Litter, B Litter, C Litter), as the first letter in the pups name. (Example: Names for the B Litter- Brando ze Srdce Iva, Bella ze Srdce Lva, Boro ze Srdce Lva, Bronco ze Srdce Lva, etc)

4/17/ 2010 /Auzzie Earns Bh!!!
I received a call today informing me that Auzzie Lowen Herzens earned her Bh! We a very proud of her and the Hotalings. Auzzie is from our 1st Litter (Mambo x Fatyma). I am sure to receive more reports as Auzzie prepares for her Sch 1. Keep going Ray!

Auzzie der Lowen Herzen receives CGC!!
I was informed yesterday (11/17/09) that Auzzie completed and was awarded her AKC CGC certification on 16 Nov 09. Congratulations to the Hotalings on a job well done. I know they are happy!! The Hotalings are egar to get their Mambo girl into a Sch trial in the very near future. I have the opportunity to see Auzzie's progression periodically and feel very confident that she will do very well with her upcoming Sch events. Let's hear it for Auzzie!!!! Whooo Hooo!!

Austin Texas Trial @ Triple Crown Kennels
A couple of us convoyed up to see a trial held at Triple Crown Kennels in Hutto, TX. While I was there I saw a former club President from Alexandria, LA (Peter Betchley) and his dog "Vage"(pronounced Vega) who were compting for his International Show rating. Of course Vege got his rating.

Jim Comes Home from Iraq/ Oct 08!

Jim (Owner) is currently in Taji, Iraq and will be redeploying back to the US during the first week of October. Everyone, including the dogs, are exctied about his return.

Jim is home and has begun working on our new kennels and whelping room.

New Kennels

We will be building 4 new dog runs in anticipation of our pending arrivals.

Yes, we are running water and electrical for the new kennels thatwe will need for our new upcoming arrivals. We are near completion. Pictures will be posted on "The Kennels" page. Please check them out.

Kennel upgrade 1 is complete

We are looking to increase our indoor kennel space to house 4 dogs. More to follow......

VR K9 to receive Jinopo Female(Sire: V. T: 5JV1/P. Navar Hronovsky pramen, Dam: Feja z Jirkova dova) on 26 Febuary 09

We will provide more information as it becomes available.

We are eger to receive our new Jinopo female at the end of Febuary. In time she will be one of the foundation breeding

females for the VR kennel .

I'm looking for audio/ video files to put on my iPod and laptop to learn czech commands in inticapation of our planned Czech arrival. If you have better references that can be found online, please feel free to email me the link (see Contact Us).

Mambo z PS to be bred to our New Czech Import Fatyma z Perštátského mlýna

Fatyma has arrived at Sapphire Shepherds as of the 17th of September and is doing well. Were waiting for her to come into heat.

Fatyma has come into heat as of this week. We are anticipating breeding within the next two weeks.

Fatyma was bred twice as of 2 Nov and we are confident that this breeding will result in some pups with great drive for all lines of work.

Fatyma whelped 8 pups (3 Males, 5 Females). We are extremely excited about this superb litter.

We plan to breed Fatyma to Mambo z PS again in the Fall of 2009. We are very pleased with the drive and character of th "A" litter. This repeat breeding will result in Dark and light sables, as well as the possibility for Bi Color pigmentation. All with superior drive and personality for work.
