Bronco Rico von Reid

AKC#

DOB: 07 Jan 2005

Bronco was the second addition to the family. I orgianally got him for my wife.

He is our "Big Boy, now at the age 4 he weighs on average between 97-100 pounds. Bronco doesnt get amped up about to much unless Dad has the ball out to play, or food to eat.

Bronco is how the name of the kennel came to be. On a recent visit to the vet to confirm his dysplasia we witnessed the "Lion" of the lion's heart (or Loweherzen) when the Vet "tweaked" his hips in the waiting area of the clinic.

It was a very sureal and empowering feeling to know that I held the leash that was keeping the angered Lion from reminding the Vet and his staff "not to tweak" a German Shepherd's hips when they are in acute pain. This gave us the kennel's name... "of the Lion's Heart".

Bronco is Schutzhund trained in general obedience and tracking. Of the two he enjoys tracking the most and periodcally I take him out to track deer that I know frequent the fields behind our house. On occasion I have found myself 2 miles into a track before he even looks up.

DOB: 14 Feb 2001

Shaylea has been my companion dog for over 10 years and has psychotic ball drive, unbridled speed, and marathon endurance. She is a true "Alpha" female, protecting her territory at all costs and runs the house. At 69 pounds, her compact frame and light overall body composition makes for a sprint competition with the younger male. Although he is younger, but heavier. She always wins!

I purchased her for my youngest son's birthday, little did I know she would be my dog for another 10 years. She loves people, as long as I introduce them, they are her freind for life. She is quick to announce any stranger's or other non-familiar persons upon scent or presence. She was my security/ alarm system when I lived alone.

I was deployed to Iraq in 2003 when I decided Shaylea shoud attend some sort of obedience course. I did some research on obedience training techniques and decided Schutzhund was the my choice for Shaylea.

When I returned from Iraq I joined the Cypress Working Dog Club in Alexandria, LA and this is what began, and has continued to fire, my interest in Schutzhund and working dogs.

Although spayed and never bred, she was the mothering canine to Bronco upon his arrival in 2004.

Shaylea is Schutzhund trained in general obedience and loves any kind of retrieve (dumbell, ball, stick, or shoe) and has a fetish for destroying soccerballs.
